Service Description

Let's knit a sweater for each season, Winter, Spring and Fall. The Winters Beach Cardigan is the perfect knit for colder months. It features all-over texture, afterthought pockets, and a "no fuss" style, perfect for layering. The body is knit flat from the bottom up and has drop-sleeve shoulder construction. Sleeves are picked up and knit down and in-the-round. Cables and moss stitch adorn the sweater. In this class, you will learn to cable without a needle! This sweater has been a long time favorite because it has it all! This class is for anyone who has completed at least three knitting projects, both in the round and flat. Students should be able to follow a pattern, knit and purl easily, "read" their own knitting, and fix some mistakes. While this is a more advanced sweater pattern, it could be your first sweater if you are curious and determined. Keep in mind that sweaters take most people over 40 hours to complete. Materials: * a printed copy of the pattern * the required yardage of DK weight yarn (avoid multicolored, heavily speckled, or self-striping yarns due to the focus on texture) * needles: Size 8 32" or 40" circular needle for body and sleeve stitches, size 6 32" or 40" circular needle for ribbing, OR other needle sizes to achieve gauge * stitch markers * highlighter tape * craft scissors * tape measure * pencil What to bring to the first class: * printed copy of the pattern * a pencil with an eraser * size 8 needle * project yarn that has been wound and ready to work with Class 1: Jan 7, 2025 Overview of pattern and class; begin swatch.
